Water-based outdoor activities are among the most popular recreation activities in Wisconsin and the lakes and rivers in our state offer ample opportunity for boating fun. Anyone born on or after January 1,1988 is required to complete a boating safety course to legally operate a motorized boat or personal watercraft (PWC) on Wisconsin waters. DNR recreational safety specialists recommend all boat operators complete a safety course. Participants will receive their certification upon completion of this course and students must attend all THREE classes to receive certification. Participants need a WI DNR Customer Number to provide to the instructor on the first day. The DNR customer number can be obtained at www.gowild.wi.gov. Class is open to anyone age 12 and older.
