The Valley Art Association (VAA) has established the School of Heritage Arts. as part of our outreach into the Chippewa Valley. We think art is basic and is unique to us as human beings. Our goal is to provide instruction on many of the creative heritage arts such as embroidery, weaving, quilting, macrame, beading, wood carving, rug hooking, spinning, basic sewing, as examples. These are the creative skills and art forms that our grandparents knew very well. Our goal is to keep them alive to be passed on to current and future generations. Our guest instructors will share their skills with those who participate. In spring semester 2026, we are pleased and thankful to partner with the Cardinal Community Learning Center to offer this first class.
In this first Heritage Arts class, you will learn how to hand sew pieces of fabric together to make a beautiful quilt. You will leave the class with a head start on a quilt and the knowledge and skills to finish it on your own. All materials provided.
